Blackberry Playbook
The yet to be launched 7” tablet by Blackberry is surely going to give other players a tough competition. As per the official Blackberry website, Playbook is going to be tad heavier than its shelf mates but is surely going to have an extra edge of 5mp back camera and 3mp front camera.
Unlike Olive, Samsung and Dell (that boast Android OS), it features its very own Blackberry Tablet OS. Now, what’s interesting to be seen is how it scores in apps and performance over all!
Love – The dual Cameras
Hate – 400 gm brick
Price – TBA
OlivePadOlive is the only tablet (and desi too) that comes at a comfortable net book price tag. Though it does not flash a 1Ghz processor that others do but its 600Mhz brain is not any bad either. This may hamper its performance slightly, but overall it is able to imprint a sound tablet experience to its user. What’s more, it comes with a lifetime subscription of Map-my-India and a 6 months subscription to Zenga Live TV services.
Love – Ultimate value for money
Hate – Screen resolution, Not so stylish
Price – INR 24999
Apple iPadThe king of Tablets, after its launch in April this has sold over 8 million so far. Though it flaunts an unbiased advantage in apps, style quotient and performance, it’s nothing but a pure tablet PC (unlike others). The largest screen size of the competitive lot is to its both advantage and disadvantage. It comes in a variety of capacity (16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB) and transmission (WiFi and WiFi + 3G) but fails to give you any phone advantage.
Love – Style, performance, Apple!
Hate – No telephone transmission, No video recording, Individuals are still waiting to catch sight of its official launch in India
Price – US$ 499-829
Samsung Galaxy TabThe much celebrated tablet around the world after tablet has been called as the most able and potential rival to the fruity tablet. It is said to have crossed 700 thousand sales mark within 1 month of its launch. It quite very well out stands all other tablets in terms of performance, style, ease of use and apps as an all-rounder, but burns a hole into your pocket by charging as much a Notebook PC.
Love – Ease of Use, Apps
Hate – Price
Price – INR 38000 approx
Dell StreakThe smallest tablet in size much appears like a smart-phone only. The old version of the Android OS seems to have been upgraded to the Android 2.2 (Froyo) like others. Furthermore, the 5mp camera gives it an edge in video and photography. Unlike Apple and much like others it has dual camera and supports 3G.
Love – Camera quality, Portability
Hate – Size, Price
Price – INR 35000 approx
